As the building of St Georges Nursing Home, our new home in Weston-Super-Mare for sufferers of dementia, moves towards completion, progress has really sped up in several areas as we get down to the details – making St Georges Nursing Home something really special.
We thought you might like to see how progress is coming along with several of the features we have already talked about in our Building St Georges Nursing Home series.
So, in this post, we will be taking a look at our garden, revealing some photographs of our kitchen and talking a little bit about our cinema room and how it will benefit both our residents and our staff.
If you’ve missed any of our previous articles, you can read them all here and see just how far we have come.
The garden has now been planted and we are waiting for the fountain to be installed. You can see how the far the garden has come. It really is the central point of the home, and gives our residents a safe and stimulating area with easy, unrestricted access.
The equipment has now been delivered to the kitchens. St Georges Nursing Home has two dining rooms (one on each floor) and this kitchen is perfectly equipped to deal with serving three meals a day to our residents. Our kitchen will be a chef’s dream with plenty of space for preparation and storage.
When this is complete, we will be able to project films on to a large screen. In addition we will be able to project TV pictures and computer images on to it. This means that not only will we able to show our residents films, but this will be a valuable tool in staff training.
In order for our residents to be well looked after, we need a willing, enthusiastic, motivated and highly trained workforce.
This team is already taking shape and we are delighted in the quality and skills of our new staff. Our web site has an application form so if you feel you would be perfect for our team, drop us a line.
