Ang Madden

Angela Madden

Home Manager

Ang, with 38 years of dedicated experience in the health and social care sector in England and Wales, has been a stalwart leader in managing diverse services. Her expertise spans community hospitals, charitable care providers, domiciliary care, as well as residential and nursing homes. A trailblazer in her own right, Ang founded a care home aimed at providing specialized support to individuals with learning difficulties.

In 2009, she earned qualifications in Leadership and Management for health care services (Adults), marking a pivotal point in her professional journey. In 2012, Ang was honoured to be invited to contribute her skills to a team working with the Welsh Assembly. Collaborating with leading professionals in health and social care, she played a pivotal role in developing and implementing the social care framework in Wales, including the formulation of codes of practice for social care workers.

Ang's passion for adult care is evident, and her commitment to nurturing her team's potential is unwavering. A true advocate for empowering the older generation to maintain independence, she believes in the lasting impact of high standards of quality care, kindness, and empathy.

Based in Wales, where she resides halfway up a mountain, Ang is a devoted mother of three and recently embraced the joys of becoming a Nanna to a beautiful little girl. Recognizing the preciousness of life and the uncertainty of tomorrow, she treasures quality family time. In her leisure, Ang enjoys long-distance and cross-country running. At home, she shares her space with two Maine Coone cats, Henry and Harry, both rescued brothers, and a Jack Russell named Tilly, also a rescue. Ang feels honoured to be part of Allegra Care, serving as the Registered Manager at St Georges, and considers it a privilege to contribute to the well-being of residents and their families.

Simon Page

Simon

Regional Resident Liaison Manager

Simon’s career has seen him accumulate extensive experience in hospitality and customer service, with key roles across the hotel, retirement living and now nursing care sectors.

The first point of contact for many, his role is to meet prospective new residents and their families, guiding and advising them through what can often be a complex and emotional decision – whether to move into elderly care and, if so, which home to choose.

Sharing Allegra Care’s commitment to person-centred care, Simon is dedicated to going the extra mile to enhance residents’ daily lives and helping to build the vibrant and welcoming community at St Georges.

An experienced runner, with over 30 marathons to his name (including London) Simon is a keen sportsman. He also enjoys city breaks, where he can indulge in local cuisine and learn about local history.

Debbie

Debbie

Receptionist

St Georges’ first point of contact for many, Debbie’s is most likely the voice you will hear when you phone and the friendly face you will first see when you visit. In her role as Receptionist, Debbie enjoys getting to know all residents, their families and visiting healthcare professionals.

All visits are booked via Debbie and she will always make sure that anything dropped in for residents is promptly and safely delivered. St Georges’ reception is a busy place but, with Debbie’s calm and proficient organisational skills, everything runs smoothly.

Richard

Richard

Chef Team Leader

Starting his career in rosette restaurants and hotels across the West Country, Richard went on to become a college lecturer in cookery and catering, a position in which he worked with people with complex needs. Building on this experience, he then ran activities provisions for two autism centres operated by the National Autistic Society, roles which involved extensive cooking and nutrition demonstrations.

Working as Chef Team Leader at St Georges, Richard devises and cooks a variety of nutritious and appetising menus to meet all residents’ dietary needs. This resident-led approach is enhanced by informal feedback and resident meetings, as well as input from staff. Flexibility and adaptability are key to ensuring the provision of alternative options for residents.

Championing fresh, local produce, Richard and his team work closely with local suppliers to source the best quality, traceable ingredients. Enabled by St Georges’ household operational model, with individual kitchens shared by small household groups, Richard also organises and delivers live cooking demonstrations.

Nicky Josselyn

Nicky Josselyn

Regional Manager Central & Western

Nicky brings more than 25 years’ care sector experience to her role as Regional Manager, with a career that spans a wide variety of roles, from care assistant to regional manager.

As her father was in the RAF, Nicky grew up as a Forces child – educated in Germany and living in many locations through her younger life, including Hong Kong. Married for 17 years, with four wonderful sons (and recently becoming a Nanny to yet another little boy!) she is happily settled in a lovely Suffolk village. As her youngest son is an outstanding striker for his football team, she can often be seen on Saturdays and Sundays running the line at his matches. Her other main sporting interest is pool – she plays for Suffolk and also runs two teams in the Ipswich league. Nicky also enjoys spending her leisure time at the gym, relaxing with her family or walking her French Bulldogs, Ralph and Coco, who are frequent visitors the homes she managers, where the residents adore them and treat them very much as their own.

I moved to St Georges one week ago to be near my support worker/next of kin, having been to several care homes previously.
Many care homes offer good physical care and facilities; the difference at St George’s is that along with all the other excellent aspects of care, they truly understand and offer the concept of ‘kind care’. The staff from domestics to management are gentle, warm, smiley and friendly as well as professional. It is this that makes the difference between living at a care home and finding a true home. I have now found my home. Activities are excellent but not forced on one. Food is second to none.
In short, I would recommend St George’s unreservedly to anyone looking for a home with the best nursing and care.
