On Wednesday 2nd May, St Georges Nursing Home was officially handed over from the developers with a ceremony at the new home in St Georges, Weston-Super-Mare.
Present at the ceremony was a team from Castle Oak as well as some of the new St Georges Nursing Home team and members of the local community.
The home was officially handed over just after midday and, once the ribbon had been cut, the first tour of the building took place.
It was exciting to finally see the home with all its finishing touches and we were lucky enough to have some (unusually) good weather which really made the garden look all the more beautiful.
The tour took in the sights of the garden, the attractive corridors, a couple of the well designed ensuite rooms, the vast number of communal areas such as the dining rooms, day care rooms, hair and beauty salon and also some of the staff areas such as the kitchens and laundry rooms. St Georges Nursing Home really has been designed to be safe, welcoming and also incredibly practical. It will bring joy to many residents and visitors as well as provide an exciting place of work for our team.
We are currently waiting on some more furniture and some final adjustments and we anticipate St Georges Nursing Home officially opening for its first residents at the beginning of June.
