Our Services and Useful InformationWhat we offer at St Georges Nursing Home
We provide 24hr nursing care and are able to care for both your physical and mental health needs, working in collaboration with other health care professionals and your family. Our nurses are supported by a team of dedicated care assistants who will assist you in your day to day activities. Our nurses are fully trained to care for the needs of the terminally ill, ensuring those at the end of their life are kept as comfortable as possible.
An experienced hairdresser runs our purpose built salon every week. We even have a nail bar if you would like some extra pampering! A chiropodist, optician and dental service also attend the home.
All your clothing is laundered and delivered back to your room. It is helpful if clothing is labelled with your name, and is suitable for both machine washing and tumble drying.
Valuables and Possessions
A personal inventory of your belongings is completed on admission. It is advisable not to bring highly valuable items. Please note that residents are responsible for insuring their own possessions. It is preferable that electrical items are new and accompanied by the receipt. For other electrical items we will arrange a safety check by our electrician. Our business manager will be please to arrange this for you and advise you of the cost.
Your family is welcome to bring well behaved pets to visit during your stay with prior arrangement.
There are number of designated smoking area in the immediate vicinity of the building.
We are fully aware of the danger of fire in care homes, particularly for those with limited mobility. Therefore at St Georges, we are proud to have a state of the art sprinkler system in place, capable of automatically putting out the majority of fires at a very early stage.
Two large lifts serve our upper floor and can comfortably accommodate wheelchairs.
