We recently ran a flower arranging activity with our residents here at St George’s Nursing Care Home.

Flower arranging is such a creative activity and a wonderful way to bring our residents together.

A behavioural study by Rutgers (one of America’s leading research universities) on the health effects of flowers on senior citizens, demonstrated that flowers ease depression, inspire social networking and refresh memory as we age.

So not only are there health and mental-wellbeing benefits, but it’s also a lovely and collaborative way to add even more colour to St. George’s in the winter months.
